Need Jesus? >>> Are you a Christian?

A Prayer for All of Us

by Michael Martinez

"And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment." Phil 1:9.

Also for this cause I offer up prayers in order that your brotherly love, your good will that is found in Jesus may exceed and abound still more in abundance and remain beyond measure. Still to a greater degree and much more with precise and correct knowledge in an individual perception, not only by the senses but also by the intellect. Paul was a used man by the Father God, and taught well by Jesus Christ the son and filled mightily by the Holy Spirit, taken care of by the angels who look into the face of God the Father always waiting to do His bidding.

Yes, the Apostle Paul had it very rough as we read in his personal testimonies of what he endured for the sake of Jesus Christ in the bible. God did this In order to build this human creation into a God fearing man, emptied of himself able to glorify Christ Jesus. Paul was as worldly as you can possibly get and maybe even worse but God transformed him into a true justified righteous man by the blood of Jesus Christ. Paul lost his life on earth, figuratively speaking to gain it by receiving eternal life. Giving up on the pursuit of earthly happiness, riches, desires, religion, somehow thinking he was doing God a favor, yet in fact oppressing the believers in Christ (read in II Cor 11). God tells us in 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verse 58 "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord"

Paul had to learn to know the Fathers Love through Jesus Christ and have discernment; sensitivity by an intimate relationship with Christ Jesus through the Holy Spirit that Jesus told to him would come upon the Lords departure into heaven. This discernment in the Hebrew language has a meaning of judging, examining, in 1 Cor. 12:10, of "discerning" spirits, judging by evidence whether they are evil or of God.

The love of God in us abounding more because we are reaching out to others who need Jesus and pulling them from the pit of fire. Jude chapter 1 verse 23 says, "But others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh." Hating even the cloths in which the sinner is wearing goes to show us how sin is so evil when you are practicing it. God speaks that sin is deceitful and wicked; it defiles humankind, the thoughts, the motives, the intentions, and it is to be hated. The evil one sets traps and seeks whom he may devour, seeking the weak from among the Christian. The person who is claiming to be saved yet never doing what is necessary to stay strong and healthy in the Lord.

We are praying without ceasing (and reading our bible that God would fill us with His knowledge, all by the means of the Holy Spirit who is either living in us as believers or not because you choose to reject His calling. "But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Cor 15:57.

The world is a place were we need to be praying for one another as brethren (man, woman and child) "Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good" Rom 12:9. We as believers need to allow God's love to flow through us in order to examine and judge ourselves that we might do for others in order for them to know their sinful ways. "Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another" Rom 12:10-13.

Sin is the most dangerous and destructive process and is the devils way. Learning God's Love is the key to walking with Jesus and having peace. Sin will destroy a person, yet God's Love will save them. We are to learn love by serving one another, as Jesus gave the Apostles the example as He washed their feet in the upper room (John 13:12-16) He says "For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you" John 13:15. The Lord God Jesus Christ coming in the likeness of a man to serve not to be served as we read in Matthew 20 verse 28 "just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."

Therefore, we learn a little that as Christians we should be praying for ourselves and for others that we may have God's Love abounding in us, overflowing out towards others and letting it be contagious. God's love is alive and well and has purpose as you can read in ( 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 ). "but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal; but have not love, I am nothing; but have not love, it profits me nothing" 1 Cor 13:1-3. Love has knowledge and is power to the believer because it is not of the believer but of Jesus Christ working through the Holy Spirit for your benefit and His glory. Love has discernment and will guard your heart and allow you to see through the lens of Christ in order to endure and persevere the hard times. Without Love, the believer is not a Christian and does not know Jesus Christ.

This Love is obtainable through prayer and by asking Christ Jesus to teach you His love and fill you with His love that you may glorify Him. The process of understanding is the transformation of the believer from his old self to his newness in Christ. Therefore may you pray for the Love of God to abound in you as you read this I will pray that God?s mighty power would be in all who read this and seek His love.

May God Bless you and give you of His peace, Amen
