?Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.? Matt 7:7.
Do you Call for, crave or desire a relationship with Jesus Christ? Do you call on Jesus as a Christian and ask Him for His wisdom to accomplish His purpose or will. ?Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself? Phil 2:3. If you are asking with selfish ambition in your prayers for yourself or for anyone else then your prayers are not in the will of God?s purpose and are probably not going to be answered.
In addition, be careful that in your prayers you do not ask wrongly or improperly if in fact ?You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures? James 4:3. Do not ask for your pleasures or for your desires or for your gain but ask first what you can do for Jesus and His purpose that He may be glorified and blessed.
The Lord Jesus Christ is not going to even hear a persons prayer if he or she is not a child of God. A person who is born again and living a surrendered life to Jesus Christ is abiding in Him, and the word of God is abiding in you, you are living it daily. You cannot just merely raise your hand at a church service to say a prayer or even attend functions at church and consider yourself a Christian. "But you do not have His word abiding in you, because whom He sent, Him you do not believe? John 5:38. The key to a relationship with Jesus Christ is serving Him in your daily life, committed to obedience and dedicated to bringing Him glory. "But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life? John 4:40. Jesus came to the earth and His own did not receive Him, but it is only those who have received Him, to them they know Him and can hear Him. "But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me? John 10:26, 27.
You need to receive Jesus and not no other, Jesus says, "I have come in My Father's name, and you do not receive Me; if another comes in his own name, him you will receive? John 5:43.
Ask in the name of Jesus Christ and believe in your heart, ask in the will of God and it will be given to you.
If you are seeking through prayer, God says ?you will find? and what you are seeking you must know in order to find it. If you found what you were seeking, would you even know that it was from God? We need to be seeking by thinking, meditating, reasoning with God from the scriptures. In Acts 17 verse 2 and 3 it says, ?Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, "This Jesus whom I preach to you is the Christ.? We need to know what the scriptures are telling us about how we are to live and what we are to expect.
We need to seek after Jesus through His scriptures and seek to understand His truth. He will provide the wisdom and understanding and He will provide every need that is necessary to live this life on earth. "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you? Matt 6:33. He promises us that He will never leave us nor forsake us and as repetitive, as this verse may be it is very important to remember, it is a beautiful verse for me personally and I am sure for all those who love Jesus Christ. ?If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him? James 1:5.
If we are not knocking on the door to heaven in prayer then it will never be opened to us, we will never be heard or nothing will be given to us because we do not ask. "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened? Matt 7:8.
"I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will of the Father who sent Me? John 5:30. Jesus speaks these words of His Father and we are to be likened to Christ and are made in His image so we too should not be seeking after our own will and desires but searching through prayer and the reading of the scriptures the will of Jesus Christ our Lord God.
Jesus Says, "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing? John 15:5. Based on my life alone I give testimony that in the world were I was serving Satan was the place in which I was most miserable. The Lord snatched me from the fire and placed me on a firm foundation were I intend to stay, it is a much better place. No matter the trials and tribulations, I would much rather have them with Jesus by my side than the trials of the world and the one who hates me the most by my side, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan.
A relationship with Jesus Christ protects us from this serpent of old and guarantees us as a born again by the Holy Spirit Christian eternal life. Nothing or nobody can lead you into darkness if you are in the Lord and His truth, ?for we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth? 2 Cor 13:8. The relationship is alive because the truth is alive and well in Jesus Christ, ?For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope? Rom 15:4
The wisdom of this world is foolishness compared to the wisdom of God, ?For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent? 1 Cor 1:19.
If you have been praying, are a Christian yet willfully sinning you might want to repent of this and get right with God or ask yourself if you are truly saved, it is no joke. Deception is all around us and the traps are always laid to trip us up and keep the unbeliever in that state of mind, unbelieving or thinking he or she is saved. ?If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth? 1 John 1:6. ?If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us? 1 John 1:8. ?If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us? 1 John 1:10.
In Addition, the contrast to this is found in 1 John chapter 1 verses 7 and 9, please read them.
May God Bless you and give you of His peace, Amen
