?What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? - Rom. 8:31.
The things that are spoken of in chapters seven and eight of Romans give the Apostle Paul the understanding that no matter what will happen to us here on earth, Jesus is for us. Who better to know this but the Apostle Paul who went through many trials and not just small trials but perils, suffering, hunger, persecutions, buffets from the enemy to say the least ( Paul suffering for Christ 2 Corinthians 11:22-28 ).
The important thing is, as a Christian we are made new and empowered by the Holy Spirit and the worst thing that can happen to us here on earth is death, but in fact, this is just the opposite. Death would only mean a new beginning, and as I like to say, ?Living here on earth is but the preface to the rest of the book lived in heaven?.
I know if you are a Christian, then ceasing is a luxury that we cannot afford. Prayer and reading the word of God is essential to calling yourself a born again believer. Without stopping or without a break we can look at giving to Jesus Christ everyday ?pray without ceasing? 1 Thessalonians 5:17. If you are doing these two pleasures then your life will change and the Lord Jesus will work in your life. You need not be afraid to follow Jesus Christ because He only loves you unconditional and I might add, loves the unbeliever. He loved us all enough for the Father to send His only Son to die innocently for the remission of our sins, we would commit for the rest of our life. Yet, His word says, ?Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God? - John 3:34.
Paul tells the unbeliever of which I was one, ?Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.? - Romans 8:9-10.
We are not made perfect or sinless but since the Holy Spirit is in us we have the opportunity to allow Jesus to work His righteousness through us to make alive our spirit. Our life will manifest the righteousness of Christ to others, and we will be at peace with ourselves, with life, and with death.
If we as Christians cease in prayer and in reading of the word then life ceases to be joyful and darkness will set in. As negative as this may seem to you its truth and is why we need to know what Christ has done for us and what He wants to do for us as a believer. What He wants is grand, it is glorious, and it is true purpose.
The Apostle Paul understood what God?s purpose was and made a decision to cease not, to end never the Lord?s work. As he prays for others he says, ?We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father, knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God? - 1 Thessalonians 1:6-7.
We hear the prayers of God?s servants and understand by their words how we need to remember and pray. ?I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, as my forefathers did, as without ceasing I remember you in my prayers night and day?? - 2 Timothy 1:3.
If you are not serving the living God I need to tell you that there is another whom you serve as an unbeliever and the bible teaches that it is the ruler of this world, Satan, the devil, the deceiver. He has purpose as well and that is to keep you from knowing the truth of what all cults and religions know about but deny. That is the power of Jesus Christ and the factual history of this savior and God man. There is condemnation when you serve the beast, and you choose to reject the creator and in return serve the creature and his lies. The word of God has told us everything that pertains to life in godliness and life separate of Jesus Christ, ?as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue?? - 2 Peter 1:3. It is only by the knowledge of God can we understand what the intention of evil is and how it is against us, seeking to destroy those who live in darkness. ?Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour? - 1 Peter 5:8.
Jesus says, ?There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit? - Romans 8:1. Christians who do not walk according to their ways or believe system, or standards of the world which can easily become you if you are ceasing in your daily walk with the Lord. If you walk according to the flesh then you walk separate from Christ and condemning yourselves to the consequences.
?For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe? 1 Thessalonians 2:13.
I pray for you Christian as well that you would fall in love with prayer and reading of the word. I pray for you unbeliever that Salvation would be granted to you, seek out Jesus Christ if you want life everlasting, do not listen to the lies in which Satan speaks using the world and the falseness? of men pretending to be Godly, but are unrighteous. God says to these people alike, "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness? - Matthew 23:32.
The only way you will know the truth is to set your mind on it and that is to be like-minded with Jesus Christ, you must be born again of the Holy Spirit.
May God Bless you and give you of His peace, Amen.
