?Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He (Jesus) who promised is faithful? (Hebrews 10:23).
We waver not in our King and Savior Jesus Christ who gives us promises and wants us to hold fast to our confession of salvation when we become saved, born again.
We pray to Jesus in total faithfulness, that he is hearing our prayers. ?The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles? (Psalm 34:17). But we first need to be made righteous as the psalmist speaks, and the only way that this can happen is to be born again. Because of the Fathers unconditional love for us, He made a way for us to be made righteous and accomplished it by sending His son Jesus to die on the cross. Through the blood of Jesus is how the Father sees us, a covering from our filth and wicked sinful nature.
If you are not born again your prayer is not to God of the bible but to the world and the world hears you. Those who confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and those who don?t are not in God (1 John 4:1-3). ?They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them? (1 John 4:5).
As a Christian, you can waver in your prayer life when you do not understand the truths of Christ; you will go back and forth in whether or not God is hearing you. You can start to doubt prayer and move into different directions, even seeking worldly counsel. I can tell you that the enemy doesn?t want us to pray because it?s so powerful and God moves through our prayers. That is why we should be praying always and consistently, holding fast to why we pray. ?Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass? (Psalm 37:5). If we hold fast to our confession that we make when we take the step of faith to believe and follow Jesus, commit our way to trusting the Lord and being obedient to His word, then Jesus will bring His goodness to you.
We need to have confidence in our prayers, because if you pray and in the back of your mind you don?t believe that your petitions or requests that you are making known to God are real then they will only be faithless words and God will only be a God that can?t fulfill His promises. ?Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him? 1 John 5:14-15).
We let our requests be made known to him (Phil.4:6) that we are sure that whatever requests are asked according to His will, in agreement with His own plan for us, He listens to us and hears us. In the back of our mind we won?t have doubt no more but have a positive assurance He will answer us.
I have made many prayers, I have asked for things, sometimes selfish, but thanks be to God that He knows what?s good for us; we may not be ready for what we are asking for at that time. So keep asking, without being anxious, without a selfish ambition, without the thought of gain or greed, without want, or thinking somehow you deserve it, and ask with a humble heart.
The key to not wavering in your prayer life is to keep on walking in faith, diligently seeking the Lord?s wisdom, and praying on a daily basis. If you feel that your prayer life is lacking it could be that your not giving the time needed to Jesus, to form a great relationship with Him. A relationship gets stronger, healthier, and vibrant as you dedicate yourself to being involved, to making it right. How much time do we spend sometimes learning about the football teams, the basketball teams, cooking, sewing, watch TV or whatever else men and women do, rather than learning who Jesus Christ is and what He wants to do in our life.
Jesus is the faithful one to wait on us, to give to us our needs, to protect us, to comfort us, to bless us, but how faithful are we to spend five minutes with the one who can set our hearts right.
My prayer is that we will let Jesus reside in our hearts more everyday as we get to know Him. That we invest into the furthering of His kingdom on earth - may you know Him better, because then your joy will increase.
