Need Jesus? >>> Are you a Christian?

Daily Verse
April 21 - New Beginnings

"Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us." - 1 Corinthians 5:7

We just celebrated Easter, and for many it was just another empty holiday. Yes, there was festivities and family get togethers, but was there a true or new understanding of what Jesus did for us? The Bible uses the word leaven to represent sin and false teaching. The Pharisees had a righteousness that they had from the law, but it was stale and still did not address the sin that lurked in the heart of man. You can never minimize sin, you have to deal with it. You can't play with it or hope it goes away, you have to begin again. You have to have a new beginning. We are truly unleaven, that is, without sin, if indeed we are in Jesus Christ. Because Jesus was sacrificed for our sin, we should not minimize it or lessen the reality of it, but deal with it. There are many today who want to "cover" sin without the shed blood of Jesus. Only His sacrifice can "cover a multitude of sin." No amount of couseling or talking can do it. Only through prayer and repentence can we truly purge the old leaven from our lives. We can't play any longer with false teaching, we must eradicate it from our lives. Amen!
