Let?s review what we?ve covered so far. God is loving, caring, righteous, holy, and just, and he must punish sin. We are evil, proud, arrogant, sexually immoral, unmerciful and rebellious against God. God must punish us, and we deserve it. Death is the only punishment for sin.

Nature of Man - Written on February 9th, 2006 | If you want to learn about the nature of man, Paul does a great job explaining it in detail in Romans 1:18-32. Although I will encourage you to read the whole passage, I will just narrow it down a little. We, as men (and women), are being guilty of all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; we are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; we are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to our parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, and unmerciful, to name a few things. The bible tells us we are all this way. I must admit I am guilty of most all these attributes. We, as a whole and individually, are a sinful people. |
Nature of God - Written on January 26th, 2006 | I think it?s unfortunate in our day how the gospel has been watered down. The parts men love are a taught openly, and those we do not are hushed. For example, I was attending my sister?s church, and the pastor was reading this bible passage from Hebrews 13. He read verses one through three, but then skipped verses four and five and picked back up at verse six. Verse four tells us not to fornicate or commit adultery, because God judges fornicators and adulterers. Verse five tells us not to love money. The pastor at this particular church decided this knowledge wasn?t really important; that it would only make his listeners uncomfortable.
