Need Jesus? >>> Are you a Christian?

Daily Verse
May 22, 2005 - The Honor of Calling Him Daddy

“For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ‘Abba, Father.’” – Romans 8:15

One of the greatest blessings that a Christian has, is the privilege, through the Holy Spirit, to call our Heavenly Father, “Abba.” The Greek word means “daddy,” signifying a very intimate relationship.

To know that we were adopted into the family of God is a great blessing, but to realize that we are adopted so that we can enjoy the benefits of a true son or daughter. Jesus is the Only Begotten of God, and through His sacrifice, we are true sons and daughters.

Throughout our lives here on earth and throughout eternity, we will be able to address the Creator of the Universe as our “Daddy.” We will are able now to approach Him with all the privileges that Jesus has. It is because of Jesus that we have this privilege. Let us not squander this honor, but come boldly to the throne of Grace.
