I sit beside the fire and think
of how the arena can be
whilst winter comes without a spring
that I shall ever see.

For nevertheless there are so many things
that i've never seen:
in every timber in every spring
there may be a unique inexperienced.

I sit down beside the hearth and think
of people long ago,
